The end of another winter season is fast approaching. Many of you are making plans to head back to your Northern base of operations. With that in mind, we take a few moments to share some ideas that will help to ease your minds while you are gone as well as assist those of us who remain behind.
Checklist for Season’s End
¨ Remove all items from your lanai as well as “A” unit front porches. ¨ Securely close and lock all windows, sliding doors, elevators, & entrance doors. ¨ Stuff towels around your sliding doors as well as on your window sills to soak up any moisture that may come in due to driving winds. ¨ Close hurricane shutters. ¨ Be sure the management company & a neighbor has a key to your condo as well as the garage door code. ¨ Provide updated contact information to the management company. ¨ Service your air conditioner, as well as install a clean filter. ¨ Install fresh batteries in your smoke detectors. ¨ If you choose to leave your refrigerator running, empty both your refrigerator and freezer – we have numerous power outages in the summer. Turn off ice maker. ¨ Turn off circuit breakers to your hot water tank, stove, microwave, refrigerator, washer & dryer. ¨ Unplug the water pump in B&C unit garages. ¨ Unplug electronic appliances such as TV’s radios, computers, as well as phone lines/modems/cable connections. ¨ Shut off water outside the garage door. ¨ Stop mail and newspaper delivery. ¨ Have a Great Summer!!
